HomeMy WebLinkAbout128 97 STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson IN THE MATTER OF A PROCLAMATION OFEMÅ“RGENCY FOR THE UPPER HOH ROAD (CR914207) IN JEFFERSON COUNTY } } } } } RESOLUTION NO. 128-97 WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Department of Public Works has reported to the Board of County Commissioners that bank erosion has occurred on the Hoh River which threatens the Upper Hoh Road (CR914207) in the vicinity of Mile Post 6.7 to the extent that immediate action must be taken to protect the roadway before expected flood events cause significant damage or destruction of the road and; WHEREAS, there is a present emergency which necessitates immediate action by Jefferson County to protect the Upper Hoh Road from imminent damage or destruction and utilization of emergency powers granted pursuant to RCW 36.40.180; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, and declared that there is an emergency due to the imminent damage or destruction of the Upper Hoh Road by expected flood events in Jefferson County; therefore, the Department of Community Development is hereby instructed to grant emergency exemptions from review under the State Environmental Policy Act and the Jefferson County Shoreline Management Master Program to the Depmiment of Public Works for those activities deemed necessary by the County Engineer and approved by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to protect the Upper Hoh Road in the vicinity of Mile Post 6.7. 5~ APPROVED AND ADOPTED thisßffi day of December, 1997.
