IN THE MATTER OF ADOPTING }
A GRADE AND STEP SALARY }
SYSTEM FOR FLSA EXEMPT }
MANAGEMENT AND PROFESSIONAL }
EMPLOYEES }
RESOLUTION NO. 8-96
WHEREAS, management and professional employees of Jefferson
County are exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and are not represented
by a recognized bargaining unit; and,
WHEREAS, said employees have been without a uniform
compensation system; and,
WHEREAS, it is desirable to have a uniform system to fairly
classify these FLSA and Union exempt positions and to provide for equitable
compensation for said positions; and,
WHEREAS, an evaluation of position content and market rates for
each position has been undertaken to determine relative grading of said
positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners of Jefferson County, that the Management and Professionally
Exempt Compensation System as outlined in the attached Exhibit A, together
with the initial placement of management and professionally exempt employees
on the system be hereby adopted, effective January 1, 1996. This
Compensation System shall be applied to all management and professionally
exempt positions in Jefferson County.
