In the Matter of Establishing
Two Additional Cash Drawers
in the Auditor's Office

WHEI~EA$, the Auditor's Office currently has two cash/change drawers in the
amount of $80.00 each, for operating the Licensing desk; and,
WHE£EA$, there are four employees currently handling licensing transactions
out of each drawer; and,
WHEI~EA$, the Auditor's Office has found that it would be in the best interest of
the County, to ensure compliance with the Cash Handling Policy, and provide
increased internal control, that each operator of the licensing desk have their
own $80.00 cash drawer to operate from.
NOW THEREFO£E BE I1' RE$OLVED, that the Auditor's Office be granted two
additional cash/change drawers in the amount of $80.00 each and the County
Treasurer be authorized to issue a Treasurer's check in the amount of $160.00,
payable to the Jefferson County Auditor.
BE ITFURTHER RESOLVED, that each cash/change drawer shall be used only by
the authorized user of said drawer, and each drawer shall be cashed out and
balanced each night at closing following the procedures outlined by the
Auditor's Office and the Cash Handling Policy.
