RESOLUTION NO.
113-96
WttEREA& the Board of Commissioners has established objectives to fund necessary capital
projects with excess revenues received; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has the discretionary authority to allocate said income
to any County government purpose; and,
WHEREAS, in 1996 the General Fund received $400,000.00 in excess revenue from various
sources; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Commissioners that it is necessary to establish a County
Building Fund to finance the long term county facilities need.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson
County have determined that it is in the best interest of Jefferson County that such a fund be
established as a capital projects fund to be known at the COUNTY BUILDING FUND (#305-
000-010).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Treasurer is hereby authorized to transfer
$400,000.00 from the County General Fund to the COUNTY BUILDING FUND and said
transfer shall occur as a residual equity transfer; and,
BE ITFURTHER RESOLVED, that COUNTY BUILDING FUND Reserves shall be invested
by the County Treasurer and interest shall be earned for the benefit of the COUNTY BUILDING
FUND; and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that said funds will be retained in the COUNTY BUILDING
FUND and not used for renovation or any other project until such time that the County has
developed, reviewed and approved a Comprehensive Facilities Plan which will detail how the
funds are to be spent.
