In the Matter of
Creating the Department
of Information Services
RESOLUTION NO. 112-96
WHEREAS, Jefferson County provides records management, data management,
computer equipment, photocopy equipment, and telephone equipment, including related
maintenance and services; and,
WHEREAS, these selMces heretofore have been provided through the Equipment
Rental and Revolving Fund; and,
WHEREAS, these collective services can be effectively and efficiently managed as
a separately managed depm~ment; and, Cq~apter 36.92 RCW provides authority to counties to
establish central services departments for the pulposes outlined above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Department of Information
Services be created with responsibilities for records management, data management, computer,
photocopy, and telephone acquisition, suppml m~d maintenance. This depm~nent shall be
authorized as a central se~Mces depm~nent per Chapter 36.92 RCW, with all duties and
responsibilities contained therein; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Dh'ector of Public Services or his/her
appointed designee, shall se~e as supervisor of the depm~nent in accordance with Chapter 36.92
RCW; and, that the Information Services Fund be created and all Infmxnafion Services equipment
and related assets be transfen'ed to this fired effective JanUaW 1, 1997.
