GRADUATED PAY SCALE FOR CERTAIN
ELECTED OFFICIALS IN
JEFFERSON COUNTY
RESOLUTION NO.
2-95
WHEREAS, a survey of eight comparable counties reveals a significant
discrepancy between the salaries of officials in selected elected offices and the salaries
of the same positions in Jefferson County; and,
WHEREAS, it is impractical to raise salaries of these Jefferson County
elected officials to be in line with the range of comparable compensation in one year;
and,
WHEREAS, salary parity will require multiple years to accomplish; and,
WHEREAS, salaries for these certain elected positions should be set at a
level which recognizes the range and scope of responsibility, and will continue to attract
qualified candidates to elected offices.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the following adjustments to the
annual salary will be made for each year for four years beginning January 1, 1995" In
addition to said adjustments, an annual Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) of 3 percent
(3 %) will be applied to the adjusted salary.
