Subject INACTIVATE FUND 103—Elections IG-6888 "CARES ACT" Grant
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
To inactivate Fund 103. Jefferson County Elections has received funds, utilized funds
and returned unused portion of grant as per the subrecipient agreement. Fund 103 is
now at a zero balance and is no longer needed.
FISCL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Inactivate Fund 103.

IG-6888 ELECTIONS "CARES ACT } RESOLUTION NO.
GRANT" FUNDS }
WHEREAS, Jefferson County Elections was a subrecipient of the "2020 HAVA CARES Act"
funds (IG-6888) in the amount of$153,422.47; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the funds was to "prevent,prepare for, and respond to coronavirus,
domestically or internationally, for the 2020 Federal election cycle; and
WHEREAS,the associated agreement called for County Elections to place the funds in a separate,
interest bearing account where the funds remained until spent by County Elections on allowable
activities under the agreement; and
WHEREAS, any funds not expended by December 31, 2020 along with any interest earned have
been returned to the Office of the Secretary of State; and
WHEREAS, this fund is now at a zero balance and is no longer needed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners
hereby directs the Jefferson County Auditor to inactivate Fund 103-000-010—IG-6888 Elections
COVID Grant.
