O'Meara with all members present. Robert M. Hays, Chairman, Jefferson County Shoreland Advisory Commission, appeared to report of meeting of Shoreline Management meeting in Lacy on Dec. 15th. Said it was stated at the meeting that full authority lies with the Board of Commissioners for approval or dis- approval of any permit an county will receive from 6, 000 to $8, 000 grant for funding pro- gram. %�/� 1<<, .�/y � Reported that a tugboat company has objected to cean Systems proposed fish rearing pens in the water west of Indian Island. Proposed area now is in the Hadlock-Irondale area. Stated also that their commission had inspected the Port Ludlow condominium site and will be sending a report to the Board. Auditor, Betty Temple, advised Board that she has requested budgets from other comparable counties and is making a chart of'different departments for Boards review and information. Letter from Dept. of Social and Health Services re: Clallam-Jefferson Committee on Alco- holism. Jefferson County has formed their own council due to lack of assistance and co- operation from Clallam Co. Meeting will be held on January 3rd. with Clallam Co. and Jefferson Co. Councils'. Resolution will be drawn up for possible resolving of Clallam- Jefferson Council on Alcoholism. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford to accept minutes of December 13th. meeting. Second by Commissioner Kelly. Unanimous. Letter from Sierra Association, Inc, concerning recently established county right-of-way. Stated they do not intend to bring road up to county specifications at this time, and requested copy of required specifications. Engineer Becker will answer letter. Board received notice from Assistant Secretary for Economic Development that Jefferson County has been designated as a redevelopment area. Board reviewed copy of revised Mental Health & Mental Retardation Budget for Jefferson County for 1972. Bill Straton appeared to request repair of his front and side lawn due to damage caused by county grader. Commissioner Kelly will inspect property. Norman Pollock, Teamsters Local 589, appeared re: Contracts for County Road and Sheriff's Departments. Contracts for January 1, 1972 to December 31, 1972 approved and signed, as follows: Motion by Commissioner Kelly to terminate Robert Jackson from County Road Dept. Motion • seconded. Unamimous. Board approved and signed Resolution No. 46-71 re: Clallam-Jefferson Juvenile Court Probation Budget, as follows:v Board approved and signed Resolution No. 47-71, presented by Pros. Attny. Daly, re: The Creation of an addition al judgeship for Jefferson-Clallam Judicial District, as follows: \ Assessor, Jim Sofie, presented Report from Forester for Boards review, and Agreement, to be signed by Chairman O'Meara, as follows: F . Minutes of December 20th. con't. Board reviewed proposed lease of county property by Jefferson County Sportsmen's Club. Pros. Attny. Daly advised that preliminary steps incidental to lease had not been met. Chairman O'Meara will return lease to Club. Notice of Public Hearing of proposed regulations on "Drug Treatment Centers" by Dept. of Social and Health Services on Jan. 5th. Notice from Parks & Recreation of approval of acquisition of facilities located in Mystery Bay for boat launching. Request from Intermediate School District No. 114 for permission to buy gasoline for their staff car, from the county. Permission granted by Board. Board received the following correspondence without comment: Copy of letter to Lincoln Const. Co. from Les Roline re: Release of retainage fee. Letter from O. C. Furseth, Chief, Wash. State Patrol, stating support for ambulance for Brinnon area. Letter of appreciation from Cape George Fishermen, Inc. for putting up road signs as requested. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
