MINUTES
• December 6, 197'1
10:OOa. m. Meeting called to order by Commissioner George Huntingford with Commissioner
Walter A. Kelly present and Chairman A. M. O'Meara absent.
Hearing for Application for Shoreline Management Permit from Forest Engineering Division
Department of Natural Resources, for their proposed prc 8Teolre Hoh River. Project is .
to construct a public access. No one appeared against. HYLKI EaCattlAdvisory Commission
recommends acceptance. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Hunting-
ford to approve permit.
Board received Shoreline Application Permit from Ocean Systems, Inc. for their proposed
project of mooring two floating fish pens and a flow recording bouy for the raising of salmon.
Referred to Shoreland Advisory Commission for inspection and advisement.
Petition to vacate roads Co. Rd. No. 16-237, Old Dabob Bay Road, from Paul Kehrer and Annie
C. Kehrer. Petition included signatures of surrounding property owners and a check for $100
made out to the Jefferson Co. Auditor. Engineer Becker took petition for processing. Hear-
ing set for January 10, 1972.
Board received fully executed copy of lease for property on Indian Island and maps of the
area. Navy requests copy of insurance. Certificate of Insurance or a certified copy of the
policy will be forwarded by Welch Ins.
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Huntingford to approve and sign
Resolution No. 42-71, Co. Rd. Project No. 341, as follows:
County trust land transmittal of funds from Dept. of Natural Resources: $45. 56 from Crown
Zellerbach, and $9. 43 from Western Division Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command,
Engineer Becker discussed Marine View Estates Camper Club with the Board. Board advised
Becker to inform. Cliff Berry, Developer, that all rules and regulations set forth in the Jeff-
erson County Platting Ordinance No. 2-71, must be complied with and all roans must meet
county specifications.
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to accept minutes of
November 22nd. meeting as presented.
Bill Stratton appeared against the removal of logs around the Quilcene Youth Center. Logs
were placed there to prevent cars and motorcycles from racing around the building. Board
advised that logs will not be removed.
Mr. Guy Roudolph appeared regarding proposed ball park at County Park in Irondale.
Mr. Jack W. Maher, Area Manager, Pope & Talbot Development, Inca appeared re: Appli-
cation for Shoreline Management Substantial Development Permit for Port Ludlow Condomin-
ium Project. Presented copies of application to Board and original to secretary. Referred
to Jeff. Co. Shoreland Advisory Commission for inspection and advisement.
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to form a Public Works
Dept. for Jefferson County, to be headed by Ed Becker. Resolution will drawn up by Engineer
Becker.

Board received the following without comment:
Letter from Parks & Recreation Commission stating action on Seal Rock Boat Launch
had been tabled.
Copy of letter to Paul Conner from Albert C. Bise, relating to the need for another Superior
Court Judge in Clallam-Jefferson Judicial District.
Paper from State Auditor on uniform accounting system for county roads and streets.
Dept. of Revenue re: Attorney General's Opinion on County Boards of Equalization;
Property taxes; and Revenue Sharing.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
