MINUTES
October 12, 1971
10:00a. m, Meeting called to order.by Chairman A, M O"Meara with all members present.
Norman Pollach, Teamsters Local 589, appeared to state Sheriff's Dept, had found budgeted
raise acceptable and if Board cannot provide dental coverage at this time they are understand-
ing.
Mr. Irving John son appeared to request permission to baracade old Tarbo road in Dabob
area to enable him to logg off his property. Stated road is not used as public access, as no
one lives there, and it is not possible to get logs off any other way. Permission granted by
the Board.
Mr, Don Sallee appeared re: Lot 10 Block F, Paradise View Estates. Presented unapproved
building permit for one bedroom house. Letter to Board from Randall M. Durant, District
Sanitarian, stating permit not approved due to area being too small for permanent home and
general soil conditions are not very good. Recommends mobil homes for this size lot, which
is 5, 000 sq. ft. Mr. Sallee said mobil home not. suitable to him and requests permission to
have cesspool instead of septic tank for one bedroom home. Chairman O'Meara informed him
they would have to talk to Mr. Durant, and could not over-rule his decision until hearing their
views.
Commissioners approved and signed Sept. bills to be paid in October, as follows:
Commissioners and Auditor counted cash in Treasurer's Office and inspected the jail cells
as prescribed by law.
Letter of request from Chamber of Commerce to have Courthouse open for tours on Oct,
16 & 17th. Request also to have Memorial Field restrooms open on same dates. Motion
by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to grant permission to
Chamber. Unanimous by Board.
Request for building permit extension from Frank L. Hart. Motion by Commissioner Kelly,
second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve extension.
Commissioner approved and signed Final Budget 1972 for Jefferson County Equipment Rental
and Revolving Fund, as follows: ;,
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to ado.pt the County
Current Expense Budget 1972 and sign Resolution No, 33-71, as follows: .,
Commissioners certified the amount to be levied and collected against the Real and Personal
Property of Jefferson County, as presented by Auditor Betty Temple, as follows:
Board received notice from Employment Security Dept. re: EEA Hiring Restrictions
No comment by Board.
Notice received from Dept. of Personnel concerning certification test for Assessors.
Board received letter of appreciation for their attendance at the recent Olympic Peninsula
Water Resources Conference from PUD No, 1.
County trust land transmittal of funds, $97. 50 from 0. C. Sellers for annual rental of brush
lease.
Minutes of October 12th. meeting can't.
Board received two notices from the State Liquor Control Board:
1) License issued to Randolph Holland Barrett, d/b/a Discovery Bay Lodge,
has been amended to show continued operations from October 1, 1971
through December 31, 1971 inclusive.
2) Notice of application for Class CD license from Robert George Haley
d/b/a Pleasant Harbor Cafe.
Correspondence from Dept, of Revenue concerning Assessed Property Values and the
Forest Tax Act received without comment.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
