WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Board of
County Commissioners of Jefferson County that the Jefferson County
Seriff's Department budget for 1975 has insufficient funds to meet
additional expenditures caused by increased demands on the Deputies
coupled with larger monthly inmate expenses; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board that an emergency exists as
could not,have been foreseen or contemplated at the time of making
the budget for 1975 and the sum of $3,250.51 is necessary to meet
such emergency and is for the best interests of Jefferson County that
the appropriation be made;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that an emergency is hereby declared,
that an appropriation of $3,250.51 be made for the Sheriff's Depart-
ment to be used for Salaries and Wages and Jail Inmate Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held on said
emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County
Commissioners Chambers of Jefferson County on the 2nd day of February,
1976, at the hour of 10:00a.m., and that notice of said hearing be
published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County and that, at
said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or
against the appropriation for such alleged emergency.
