WHEREAS, it appears that the most efficient method of providing legal
counsel for indigent defendants in Jefferson County is by contracting with the
Clallam-Jefferson Public Defender, and
W~I~AS, the Clallam-Jefferson Public Defender has indicated a willing-
ness to undertake the defense of criminal indigents in Jefferson County and has
assured that such defense will be in accordance with high ethical and professional
standards;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that Jefferson. County be and it
is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Clallam-Jefferson Public Defender
for the defense of Jefferson County indigent defendants.
