WHEREAS, Jefferson County entered into agreement with the
Clallam/Jefferson Public Defender to provide legal counsel for
indigent defendants in Jefferson County; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of the citizens of Jefferson County
the Board of County Commissioners by said Agreement dated July 6, 1976
authorized funding the expenses of the defender program; and
WHEREAS, a catagory exists in the Superior Cou~t budget~for
1976 from which payment can be drawn;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Auditor be and she
is hereby authorized to transfer the amount of seven thousand, five
hundred and no/100 dollars in the Superior Court budget, 1976 from
the catagory listed as bars account no. 512.70.31.002 to a new
sub-catagory to be numbered 512.70.31.002.1, Public Defender
(contract);
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Auditor is authorized to draw
warrants not to exceed the amount of $7,500.00 on the new sub-catagory
no. 512.70.31.002.1 for the sole purpose of paying the costs incurred
in implementing the Public Defender program.
