WHEREAS, Port Townsend School District No. 50 owns certain real
property located in the City of Port Townsend described as:
Lots 1 through 8, Block 136, Original Townsite
of the City of Port Townsend as recorded in Volume 1, page 1,
of Plats, Jefferson County, Washington; and
WHEREAS, the Econcmic Development Administration is making available
funds for the renovation and develo~nent of cc~anunity recreational facilities; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that the above-described property may qualify
for such funding; and,
WHEREAS, the renovation and development of ..the above-described
property as a cc~nunity recreational facility wouldbe a substantial benefit
to the people of Jefferson C0unty; and,
WHEREAS, it is understood that the property described above could be
leased by Jefferson County, and that Jefferson County wouldbe in the best
position of any local municipal gove~t to obtain Econc~icDevelopment
Administration funding for renovation and development of the said property;
Now, Therefore,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County Cc~issioners be and
it is hereby authorized to enter into a Lease with Port Townsend School District
No. 50 for lease of that real property described hereinabove and to take such
action as is necessary to acquire EconOmic Development Administration funding
for renovation and development of the said property for use as a conmunity
recreational facility.
