HomeMy WebLinkAboutas01EMPost Pandemic JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners Mark McCauley, County Administrator FROM: Willie Bence, Emergency Management Director DATE: July 18, 2022 SUBJECT: WORKSHOP re: Post Pandemic Survey Results and After Action and ADDITIONAL PUBLIC COMMENT STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Emergency Management, in conjunction with a number of community partners including but not limited to Jefferson County Public Health and Jefferson Healthcare, activated the Emergency Operations Center in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic in March of 2020. After a response that lasted over two years, DEM is conducting an After-Action Review of the EOC response to determine areas of strength and areas for improvement, as well as recommend actions to become better prepared for the next pandemic or catastrophic event. ANALYSIS: DEM has drafted our initial list of improvement areas and recommended actions based on a survey distributed to our partners, as well as a number of conversations with partners, EOC responders, and volunteers. RECOMMENDATION: A 60 minute workshop to brief the BOCC on DEM's preliminary findings regarding our COVID After Action survey. REVIEWED BY: ark McCauley ounty Administrator Date
