SUBJECT: MOTION re: Extend Written Testimony for the No Shooting Area Hearing; Greater
Jolie Way and Silver Berry Place to July 25, 2022
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On Monday, July 11, 2022 the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved a hearing notice for the
Greater Jolie Way and Silver Berry Place No Shooting Area for July 25, 2022 to be published July 13, and
20, 2022. Staff noticed the deadline for written testimony was invited from July 13, 2022 and ending on July
20, 2022 unless extended by the BOCC. Staff seeks a motion to extend the deadline for written testimony to
the hearing date of July 25, 2022.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact of this request is minimal.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve motion to extend written testimony as stated on the hearing noticed published on June 13, 2022
from June 20, 2022 to the end of the hearing date of June 25, 2022.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BEFORE THE JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON AN ORDINANCE IN GREATER JOLIE WAY AND SILVER BERRY PLACE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing is scheduled by the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners (BOCC) for Monday, July 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers,
County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Notice of said hearing is to be
published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County.
The public hearing is to take comments from all interested persons for or against an ordinance for a
No Shooting Area located in the Greater Jolie Way and Silver Berry Place, which the County
Commissioners are considering for possible adoption. The No Shooting Area was originally
submitted as a petition, found to be sufficient by the county Auditor, for an area in the Greater Jolie
Way and Silver Berry Place. The BOCC shall consider the location, terrain and surrounding land use
of the petitioned area. The BOCC shall determine the final boundaries for the creation of a no
shooting area. Jefferson County invites Tribal input on all proposals from local tribes.
