HomeMy WebLinkAbout015 94 (;12 Pi 1-:)-'-(- &) 'I STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson IN THE MA TIER OF THE ADOPTION THE LUDLOW WATERSHED ACfION PLAN } } RESOLUTION NO. 15-94 WHEREAS, the Puget Sound Water Quality Authority has identified nonpoint source pollution as a significant contaminant of Puget Sound, and has called for local governments to plan for the control of nonpoint source pollution under the Federal Clean Water Act; and WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Ecology has established grant funding to assist local governments with the preparation of watershed action plans to control nonpoint source pollution; and WHEREAS, Jefferson County ranked the Ludlow Watershed as its number one priority watershed for action planning efforts; and WHEREAS, the Ludlow Watershed Management Committee, consisting of community, business, tribal, county, and other broad-based representation, was established to guide development and adoption of the Ludlow Watershed Action Plan; and WHEREAS, a public review process was carried out consisting of regular open meetings, direct mailings, newspaper publications, comments on draft plans and recommendations, public hearings; and WHEREAS, a Determination of Nonsignificant Impact has been issued for the Ludlow Watershed Action Plan following the process set forth in Chapter 197-11- 340 (2) of the Washington State Administrative Code and the Jefferson County Implementing Ordinance: State Environmental Policy Act, Ordinance No. 7-84; and WHEREAS, all community organizations, county departments, and other governmental agencies responsible for implementing the adopted recommendations of the final, approved action plan have formally concurred with the final, approved action plan; NOw, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ludlow Watershed Action Plan for the control of nonpoint source pollution is hereby adopted. Participating county departments and other implementing entities shall work together to implement the Ludlow Watershed Action Plan in the protection and preservation of water quality of the Ludlow Watershed and of greater Puget Sound.
