In the Matter of Establishing
a Public Employee Relations
Fund Checking Account at
Quimper Credit Union

RESOLUTION NO. 64-94
WHEREAS, Jefferson County offers funds for the Public Employee
Relations Committee (PERC) to provide activities that benefit County employees;
and,
WHEREAS, the County receives commissions from the proceeds of the
vending machines and the pay telephone at the County Courthouse both of which
are primarily used by the employees of Jefferson County; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners that it
would better serve the employees of Jefferson County to use the commissions from
the vending machines and telephone in the Courthouse to supplement funding for the
activities of PERC; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that in order to distribute said proceeds to PERC,
that a separate checking account should be established by the Committee. Said
account shall have a minimum of two signers: the de facto PERC Treasurer,
Auditor's Office Accountant, Mary Baldridge, and the current chairman of PERC
who serves for a one (1) year term. All expenditures must be authorized through
the PERC meeting minutes before they are submitted for payment from this checking
account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners of Jefferson County have determined that it is in the best interest of
Jefferson County that the PERC establish a separate checking account to be known
as the "Employee Relations Fund" at the Quimper Credit Union.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that once proof of the establishment of
said checking account is provided to the County Treasurer she is hereby authorized
to disburse such commissions from the Courthouse vending machines to the
Employee Relations Fund account at the Quimper Credit Union on a semi-monthly
basis.
