Transferring Line Authority
for the Planning and Building
Department to the Director
of Community Services

RESOLUTION NO. 78-93
In the matter of
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desires the functions and operation of the
Planning and Building Department be monitored on a regular basis; and
WHEREAS, line authority over the functions and operations of the Planning and
Building Department rests with the Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, a more efficient use of the Board of Commissioners time is to reduce the
number of departments which report directly to them on a functional and operational basis;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that line authority for the functions and
operations of the Planning and Building Department is hereby transferred to the Director of
Community Services; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Director of Community Services may take such
actions as deemed appropriate to carry out the mission of the Planning and Building
Department consistent with the policies of the Board of Commissioners.
