COUNTY OF JEFFERSON
In the Matter of:

Establishing an emergency x
condition in regards to the x
implementation of an Enhanced x
911 Emergency Locator System x
Whereas, the residents of Jefferson County have voted to implement
an Enhanced 911 Emergency Locator System; and
Resolution No,
93-93
Whereas, Jefferson County is going to implement this system in the
Westerly portion of Jefferson County for the first time; and
Whereas, in order to continue funding from the State of Washington
for implementation of the system, the County is required to meet
various deadlines in a performance schedule; and
Whereas, the Master Street Address Guide, establishing all road
names and address ranges on those said roads needs to be delivered
in October; and
Whereas, it will not be possible in the time allotted to establish
road names in accordance with the Ordinance entitled "Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System", which provides that new road
names will be chosen following input from residents; and
Whereas, that process requires thirty to sixty days for completion;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency condition exists
as regards the implementation of an Enhanced 911 Emergency Locator
System in a timely manner; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of implementing this
program the Public Works Department shall submit to the Board of
County Commissioners proposed road names as needed, so as to
conform to the existing 911 Locator Ordinance; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that those residents living on said roads
will be given the opportunity to petition for a new name of said
roads, if they so desire, after the Enhanced 911 System is
implemented and in accordance with then-existing law and
regulation,
