WHEREAS, the Quinault Indian Nation, through its duly elected governing body, has requested that the Queets Cannery Road, Jefferson County Road No. 118509, be released and conveyed by Jefferson County to the Quinault Indian Nation and the Bureau of Indian Mfairs; and WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.250 through 36.34.270 permit conveyance by gift of county property to the United States government; and WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Mfairs is an agency of the United States of America; and WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Affairs has agreed to accept this right of way into the BIA Road System; and WHEREAS, the Queets Cannery Road is not accessible via public rights of way and therefore does not serve the public; and WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Engineer has recommended that it is in the public interest that said Queets Cannery Road be conveyed and transferred to the Quinault Indian Nation; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that that road known as the Queets Cannery Road lying in Section 35, Township 24 North, Range 13 West, W.M., be conveyed in its entirety to the Quinault Indian Nation, to be held in trust by the United States of America, Bureau of Indian Mfairs. /o~ ADOPTED THIS DAY OF ~ 1992. Dennison, Chairman ATIEST: APPROVED: c-, .~.~~ t~ Mark Huth, Prosecuting Attorney APR 1 3 1992 18 00 K)P"" ¡ Þk~ <,HJ.L VOi. 30J PA~c 32[) '."'- /'" .lécl ) - (1 QUI NAULT BUSINESS COMMITTEE RESOLUTION NO. ~-~-~ WHEREAS, the Quinault Business Committee is the duly elected governing body of the Quinault Indian Nation; and WHEREAS, the Quinault Business Committee is empowered by the Constitution of the Quinault Indian Nation to enter into agreements on behalf of the Quinault Nation with federal, state, and local governments; and WHEREAS, Jefferson County presently claims to have ownership and control of a right-of-way from the southern end of River Boulevard, Vill~ge of Qpe~ts to the Queets sewage lagoons~ hereinafter known at the "River Boulevard Extension;" and WHEREAS, Jefferson County has expressed a willingness to release its ownership and control to the Quinault Indian Nation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs; and WHEREAS, this right-of-way is essential ta the Quinault Nation for the purposes of maintaining the Queets sewage lagoon; and WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Branch of Roads, has tentatively agreed to accept this right-af-way into the BIA Road System; now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Quinault Nation hereby requests that the "River Boulevard Extension" right-of-way be transferred from Jefferson County to the Quinault Indian Nation, held in trust by the United States of America, Bureau of Indian Affairs and placed into the BIA Road System. ~}-Å- ~ if~ <?A (^--\.----- e DeLaCruz, P~esident Quinault Indian Nation C E R T I F I CAT ION AS SECRETARY OF THE QUINAULT INDIAN NATION, I THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED BY TH COMMITTEE DURING A REGULAR MEET~ ON QUORUM WAS PRESENT BY A VOTE OF FOR, ABSTAINING.
