Resource Policies}
RESOLUTION NO.
49-92
WHEREAS, ; the State of Washington's Pacific Ocean coastline includes the
Counties of Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor and Pacific; and,
WHEREAS, these counties, and the State of Washington, have joined together in
a common effort to develop goals and policies for the protection and enhancement of
the long term environmental and socioeconomic resources of this coastal area; and,
WHEREAS, the document, titled Coastal Counties Ocean Resource Policies. is the
result of that effort; and,
WHEREAS, these policies provide a framework by which to evaluate proposals,
activities or programs which may eff~ct the coastal waters of Jefferson County and the
State of Washington.
NOw, THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, Jefferson County does hereby adopt the
Coastal Counties Ocean Resource Policies as a source document and reference guide
for evaluating activities, proposals, programs or developments which may pertain to the
ocean coastal waters of the County, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, said policies shall become an integral part of the
County's coastal zone management activities and referenced, as appropriate, in the
administration of the Jefferson County Shoreline Management Master Program.
