Teamsters Union #589 Contracts}
with the Public Works and }
Sheriff's Departments }
RESOLUTION NO, 11-91
WHEREAS, Jefferson County formally entered into negotiations at the request of
Teamsters Union Local #589 on January 24, 1991 to consider changing the "Maintenance
of Benefits" Section of the bargaining unit contracts for the Sheriff's Department and the
Public Works Departments, and
WHEREAS, after negotiating it was determined to be in the best interest of the
County that a change be made in the Section entitled "Maintenance of Benefits" of both
Teamsters Union contracts, and
WHEREAS, it was agreed by both parties that the contract be amended as follows:
Jefferson County Public Works Department Contract for the period
January 1, 1989 through December 31, 1991 "Article 17 Maintenance
of Benefits: Section 1. Effective February 1, 1991, if during the life of
this agreement the combined total amount of payments in Article #14,
#15 and #16 exceed $310.00 the excess will be paid by the employee
through payroll deduction."
Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Contract for the period January
1, 1989 through December 31, 1991 "Article 20 Maintenance of Benefits:
Section 1. Effective February 1, 1991, if any increases in Article #17,
#18 or #19 exceed a combined total of $310.00 during the life of this
agreement, that increase shall be paid by the employee through payroll
deduction. "
NOw, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jefferson ¡County Board of
Commissioners hereby directs the Auditor's Office to implement this change in the contract,
effective February 1, 1991 and that the Teamsters Union submit an addendum to the
contract for the Public Works and Sheriff's Departments as agreed.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 30th DAY OF January. 1991.
