Jefferson County Hazardous
Waste Management Plan

WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Hazardous Waste Manaqement Plan of April 1991, has
been developed for the purpose of managing small quantities of moderate risk
hazardous waste in Jefferson County; and
WHEREAS, it is intended to satisfy the responsibility of Jefferson County to
protect the public health, safety and welfare of County residents and the
environment from the potential adverse effects of moderate risk wastes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 70.105 of the Revised Code of Washington, Jefferson
County is required to prepare a local hazardous waste management plan; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Solid Waste Advisory Committee has assisted in the
preparat i on of the plan and recommended that it be adopted by the 1 oca 1
jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has held three public forums and an adoption hearing;
and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
do hereby approve and adopt the Jefferson County Hazardous Waste Management Plan
of April 1991.
