Resolution No. 118 - 91
WHEREAS, the active cell at the Jefferson County Landfill
shall cease accepting wastes and begin closure according to WAC
173-304-460(3) (e) by January 1,1993 (JCHD, Chapter 2-77, Rules and
Regulations of Jefferson County Board of Health Governing Solid
Waste Handling and Chapter 173-304 WAC. Minimum Functional
Standards for Solid Waste Handling) and
WHEREAS, Chapter 173-304-467 Financial assurance for public
facilities, requires that each owner and operator of an applicable
landfill disposal facility shall establish a financial assurance
account to provide funds for closure and post-closure activity, and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners that it is necessary to establish a Solid Waste
Financial Assurance Fund for closure and post-closure activity at
the Jefferson County Landfill and a special fund be established in
the amount of $250,000, and it is in the best interests of
Jefferson County that the fund be established.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jefferson County
Treasurer establish the Solid Waste Financial Assurance Fund,
