HomeMy WebLinkAbout076 90 œ·, f(.í) 1/a.bjC¡O ...' . ,... e i'·- .' :~. _~ t", COUNTY OF JEFFERSoN STATE OF WASHINGTON In the Matter of x RESOLUTION NO. 76-90 Authorizing Application to the x Interagency Committee for Outdoor x Recreation for Funding Assistance x WHEREAS, the draft "Comprehensive Parks Plan" for Jefferson county identifies a need for establishing a trail system commonly known as the "Olympic-Discovery" trail, from the ci ty Limits of Port Townsend to Clallam county; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act, state and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cOst of land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners considers it in the best Public interest to begin acquisition of various properties in Jefferson jcounty to accommodate the trail; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, 1. That the Public Works Department of Jefferson county be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee for Qutdoor Recreation for funding assistance, 2. Th~t any fund assistance so received to be used in the acquisition of land for the Olympic-Discovery Trail, 3. That the County's share for the project will be derived from general funds, 4. Jefferson County does hereby certify that the County is responsible to support all non-cash commit~ents to the local share should they not materialize. 5. That any property acquired wi th finanoial aid through the Interagency Committee for outdoor Recreation be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and agreed to by the Jefferson County, the Interagency, Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agetlcy, and l!eaolut:1on AuthDx'idftIJ Appl1cat:1011. for :rAC Gram: 1 ~VOl i 6 fAŒ nor' ~ 5tlG \.f"'. _ ( 1"i'1r~ ..-......J~ ~ -_ l/I ... 6. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency Committee for outdoor Recreation, 7. That adequate notification has been given and opportunity provided for pUblic input and that published notices have identified affected flood plains and/or wetlands, if applicable. That Jefferson County does cert~fy that the County is the owner of the land to be developed and based on current knowledge, provides assurance there are no encumbrances on the land whic~ would restrict recreation use of the land as proposed in this application.
