ESTABLISHING THE DATES OF 1990 BUDGET
SUBMISSIONS, REVIEW HEARINGS « FINAL ADOPTION
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.40.071, the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners have selected the alternate date of the first week in December
to hold budget hearings for the purpose of adoption of the Jefferson County
Budget for 1990; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.40.010, the Jefferson County Auditor
shall notify in writing each elective or appointive county official to file
with her on or before the 12th day of September, 1989, an estimated budget
for the ensuing year, for submission to the Board of County Commissioners by
September 25, 1989; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that 1990 budget reviews shall be held with the
Department Heads as necessary during the months of October and November and
that during the first week in December (December 4th through 8th) budget
hearings shall be held and upon conclusion of said hearings, the Jefferson
County Budget for 1990 shall be adopted.

Subj: Alternate Date & 1990 Budget Calendar
I have prepared a calendar for the 1990 budget process for your review.
If it meets with your approval, I request that it be included with the
resolution adopting the alternate date as in the past.
I've attached a copy of last year's calendar & your resolution for
comparison.
Anne & I will be updating the budget instructions, budget narrative
and capital outlay request. As last year, these will be included with
the Auditor's "call" letter and various computer printouts.
If the BOCC chooses to prepare a budget statement, I would like to
include it in the budget package.
Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Notice also sent to non-departmental, hotel/motel and
special purpose districts for 1990 budgets.
Department Heads submit completed budget requests to Auditor.*
Auditor submits PreHminary Budget to Conunissioners.
Commissioners near budget presentations by each department head.
Budget hearings scheduled. Notice of Public Hearings published
for two consecutive weeks. Copy of preliminary budget available
upon request.
1990 Final Budget Hearings begin.
Board of County Commissioners adopt 1990 Budget by resolution.
Final budget forwarded to the State Auditor's Office.
Final budget avai'lable to public upon request.
*RCW 36.40.010,030: Each elective and appointive Department Head must file an
estimated budget for the ens'utng fi'scal year with the County Auditor. If estimates
are not fi'led by the date required (Sept. 12th), the Auditor shall deduct and
withhold as a penalty from the salary of each offi'c1al failing to comply, $10 for
each day of delay, not to exceed $50 in one (1) year.
