RESOLUTION NO. 2-88
HEARING NOTICE
PROPOSED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS/EXTENSIONS
VARIOUS COUNTY DEPARTMENTS
WHEREAS, various Jefferson County budgets have insufficient
funds to cover the following additional expenditures which were not
anticipated at the time of preparing the said budgets;
County Roads $100,000.00
Solid Waste 6,000.00
Brinnon Senior Center Project 32,300.00
Planning Commission 45.00
Building Inspection 70.00
Shoreline Commission 300.00
Coroner 57.00
Clerk 1,337.00
Total: $140,109.00
and
WHEREAS, the total amount of Current Expense monies needed
to meet the aforementioned emergency appropriation is $40,109.00;
and the County Road Fund monies needed to meet the aforementioned
emergency appropriation is $100,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners that a need and emergency exists as could not have
been foreseen or contemplated at the time of making the budgets
for 1987 and the sum of $140,109.00 is necessary to meet such need
and emergency for the above noted budgets and is for the best
interest of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby
declared and that an appropriation be made for the County Road
Fund, the Solid Waste Fund, Brinnon Senior Center Fund, the
Planning Commission, Shoreline Commission, Building Inspection,
the Coroner, and the Clerk for the total amount of $140,109.00 to
pay for unanticipated expenses for 1987.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the
said emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the
County Commissioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend,
Washington, on the 19th day of January, 1988, at the hour of
10:00 a.m., and that notice of said hearing be published in the
official newspaper of Jefferson County and that at said hearing any
interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the
appropriation for such alleged emergency.
