BBARIRG ROTICE
PROPOSED BUDGET APPROPRIATIOR
3EFFERSOR COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMERT
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Public Works Department has
insufficient funds within the Renovation category of the Brinnon
Senior Center Project Budget to complete construction of the
Brinnon Water System and to pay retainage for the Senior Center
construction, which funds were not anticipated at the time of
preparing the said budget; and
WHEREAS, the total amount of monies needed to meet the
aforementioned emergency appropriation is $55,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners that a need and emergency exists as could not have
been foreseen or contemplated at the time of making the above noted
budget for 1988 and the sum of $55,000.00 is necessary to meet such
need and emergency and it is for the best interest of Jefferson
County that the appropriation be made.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby
declared and that an appropriation be made for the Brinnon Senior
Center Project Budget for the total amount of $55,000.00 to
complete construction of the Brinnon Water System and to pay
retainage for Brinnon Senior Center construction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the
said emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the
County Commissioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend,
Washington, on the 9th day of May, 1988, at the hour of 10:30a.m.,
and that notice of said hearing be published in the official
newspaper of Jefferson County and that at said hearing any
interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the
appropriation for such alleged emergency.

RE: REQUEST FOR EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION

Gentlemen:
Please be advised that after a thorough examination of my current
budget it appears that the amount allocated in BARS Account No.
555.00.63 of $57,000.00 of the Renovation category is
insufficient to pay necessary expenses of this department for
this year. After a careful examination of all the expenditures
within the department budget with respect to present and future
needs, I find there are no funds available to transfer into the
deficient account. Therefore, I request an emergency
appropriation in the amount of $55,000 for this current year for
the following reason(s) as outlined below:
