Smith, Juvenile/Family Court Services Director ~~L~ RE: Request for Budget Transfer, JUVENILE & F&~ILY COURT SERVICES DATE: ~1ay 5, 1988 Gentlemen: Please be advised that after a thorough examination of my current budget, it appears that an adjustlllent shouid be made within the Juv & Fam CtBudget of Expenditures for the above-narne¿ department, Due to there being sufficient fun¿s in other accounts within the budoet of this depar~~ent to permit the necessary adjustment(s) I hereby r~quest the following transfer(s) : ' Transfer FROM: (BARS Accow~t Nurr~er and Title) 527.60 41 0010 Contract with Kitsap County $1,803.60 Transfer TO: ...., (BARS Account Nurnb~r and Title) Contract with Thurston County Juvenile Detention for specialized detention holds (drug/alcohol in-detention program) $1,803.60....= 'i 527.60 Al 0030 Reason ,for Trans,fer (s) : ThurstDn County Juvenile Court/Detention have developed an in-house drug/alcohol ,program for juvenile offenders with a 45-day sentence. Locally, a youth was charged wíth several MIP (Minor in Possession) offenses, had conditions of release re-voked because of 'continued drinking behaviors and was ordered held pending trial. Through an agreement withThurston County, they are willing to accept Jefferson County youths and run them through their alcohol/ drug in-house program. That program is managed by a trained and certified alcohol counselo~ and is modeled after community based in-patient treatment programs.
