RESOLUTION NO. 8-87
HEARING NOTICE
REQUESTED BUDGET APPROPRIATION
PLANNING/BUILDING DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Planning/Building Department
has insufficient funds in its 1987 Budget of Expenditures to cover
additional expenditures in the amount of $270.00 which were not
anticipated at the time of preparing the said budget; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County Commis-
sioners that a need and emergency exists as could not have been
foreseen or contemplated at the time of making the budget for 1987
and the sum of $270.00 is necessary to meet such need and emergency
and is for the best interests of Jefferson County tha the appropriation
be made; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared and
that an appropriation be made for the Jefferson County Planning/Build-
ing Department in the amount of $270.00 for the purpose of paying for
Consulting Service carried over from 1986.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the
said emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the
County Commissioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington,
on the 23rd day of February, at the hour of 3:00p.m., and that notice
of said hearing be published in the official newspaper of Jefferson
County and that at said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and
be heard for or against the ~ropriation for such alleged emergency.

Gentlemen:
Please be advised that after a thorough examination of my current budget
it appears that the budgeted amount in BARS Account Number 01420.558.60.
41.60 of $ -0 _ of the CljrrAnt Fxppnc::"" Fund is, insufficient to pay
necessary expenses of this department for this year. After a careful
examination of the expenditures under this fund in previous years, and a
thorough examination of the present needs of this department under the
current year, I estimate that it 'will be necessary to have an additional
appropriation in the form of an emergency appropriation in the approxi-
mate amount of $ 270.00 for this current year for the following
reasons:
A consultant was contracted Ln 1986 to convert the addressLng system
f~les o~ the Tandy RadLo Shack computer to the 18~1 computer, The
fLnal bLll for the consultant's servLces was not receLved untLl 1987.
Payment for thLs servLce was not bud~eted Ln 1987; therefore an
approprLatLon Ls needed. 0
Accordingly, I request permission from the Board of County Commissioners
for an emergency appropriation in the sum of $ 270.00 for the cur-
rent year. '
