In the Matter of Establishing a
Drug Investigation Fund for
Sheriffs Office

RESOLUTION NO 06-04
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office is responsible for monies that
are received as part of drug investigations; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriffs Office Drug Investigation monies are currently deposited
in a separate checking account; and
WHEREAS; RCW 36.29.20 requires that the County Treasurer shall keep all
monies until disbursed; and
WHEREAS; RCW 36.22.50 required that the County Auditor issue warrants and
retain all original bills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County Commissioners
that it is in the best interest of Jefferson County that a fund be established to be known as the
Sheriffs Drug Investigation Fund as Fund Number 136-000-010 by the Jefferson County
Treasurer, benefitting the Sheriff's Office drug investigations (See attached proposed budget.)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners shall direct funds
to be placed into said fund as the Sheriff deems appropriate and that the interest earned from the
monies invested by the Jefferson County Treasurer from this fund shall be deposited to the fund.
