Naming a Private Road X
Country Meadow Road X
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a petition to name a private
road Country Valley Road, or J. Gould Lane, or Bump E Road as shown on attached Exhibit "A",
pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Ordinance Number 2-0401-91 and the petitioner has also
provided other alternative road names including Country Meadow Road (Exhibit A, page 2).
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road, and;
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name to allow for addressing along
the road and eliminate confusion due to similar road names as required by the Jefferson County
911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance and;
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are several addresses assigned on this
milepost number at this time that will be affected by establishing the road name as shown on
attached Exhibit "B";
WHEREAS, notification was sent to interested parties and;
WHEREAS, a response was received by the Jefferson County E911 Dispatch Center as
shown on attached Exhibit "C" and;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the road be named Country Meadow Road.

Will: I have no objection to that name as long as there is no other road in the entire County including the City using that
name. The sign needs to be installed and new addresses assigned to residences along the road. I belive Terry Duff
assigns those new numbers.

Hello Chuck,
I have been handed a project to name a private road as petitioned by Marshall Walters. The subject road is located
MP 2.72 Center Road, and the road name approved by the Jefcom is Country Meadow Road. You may recall that this
road leads to the old J. Gould dairy farmlbam. As you know, a private road must be named and appropriately
addressed once there are 5 or more addresses located on the roadway. This is the case for Mr. Walters,
unfortunately this process has taken a great deal of time and he has a building permit stalled in the process. My hope
is that you will be able to respond quickly to the name requested and I can get this issue before the BOCC ASAP to
assist him in moving ahead with the permit. Thanks in advance for the response. Will Butterfield.

Thanks for your efforts and based on your suggestion we went back to the petitioner, Marshall Walters, to
request other name selections. We tried to explain that they should not have to rename the subject
roadway in the near future. Their selection in priority order is as follows:
1. Country Meadow Road
2. Old Dairy Road
3. Happy Farms Road
4. Tall Tree Road
5. Family Farms Road
I will submitting all comments to the BOCC. Thanks. WB.
