Box 2070 1322 Washington Street Port Townsend, WA 98368 (360) 385-9160 Frank Gifford, Public Works Director Robert G. Turpin, PE, County Engineer MEMORANDUM TO: Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Robert Turpin, County Engineer ~-::> FROM: DATE: June 14,2004 RE: County Engineer's Report; Parkridge Drive County Road extension Parkridge Drive (CR 681809) from Woodland Drive to Mile Post 0.51 was constructed to serve Woodland Hills Long Plat No.2, Phase 1. It was placed on the County Road Log in August 2003. An additional 0.80 mile segment is proposed to be dedicated to Jefferson County and placed on the County Road Log. It would extend Parkridge Drive north and west to intersect with SR19 approximately 0.25 miles southeasterly of the SR19/ SR20 intersection. The right -of-way for most of the road is within the Plat of Woodland Hills 2, Phase 2 and was dedicated to Jefferson County in fee simple on the Plat. The right-of-way for the final 0.05 mile segment is outside of the Plat and was conveyed to Jefferson County in fee simple by statutory warranty deed. The Public Works Department reviewed and approved the road construction and stormwater management plans. The road was designed in accordance with the Department's adopted standards, the Policy on Geometric Design of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. The stormwater management plan is consistent with the standards of the Washington Department of Ecology Stormwater Management Manual for the Puget Sound Basin. The Public Works Department inspected construction. The materials used in construction conform to the Standard Specifications of the Washington Department of Transportation. The road was constructed in accordance with the approved plans. Accepting this segment of Parkridge Drive would extend the existing County Road system in the area and provide an additional access to SR19. Accepting the road would be consistent with previous plats and road dedications in the area. In consideration of the above, I recommend that the Board of County Commissioners accept the extension of Parkridge Drive from Mile Post 0.51 to Mile Post 1.31 as a County Road and approve the resolution adding it to the County Road Log. 100% Recycled Paper
