HomeMy WebLinkAbout064 04SRS j ,7oq CS In the Matter of Establishing } A Petty Cash Account for } Superior Court } STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson RESOLUTION NO. 64-04 WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Superior Court Judge has requested the establishment of a petty cash account in the amount of $50.00 for cash transactions for supplies for jurors and certified mailings; and WHEREAS, in January, 2005 the administration of the Superior Court will separate from the County Clerk's Office and be administered by an appointed Court Administrator; and, WHEREAS, the Superior Court Judge has agreed that it would be in the best interest of the County, to ensure compliance with the Cash Handling Policy to provide increased internal control. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners that the Superior Court be granted a petty cash account in the amount of $50.00 and the County Treasurer is hereby authorized to issue a Treasurer's check in the amount of $50.00 payable to the Jefferson County Superior Court. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the petty cash account shall only be used by authorized users, and the account shall be balanced and replenished as needed following the procedures outlined by the Cash Handling Policy. With the separation of the County Clerk's Office from the Superior Court Administration, it will be necessary for the Court Administrator to have their own Petty Cash Fund to procure small items for the Superior Court jurors such as cough drops, tissues, and pop; and also for miscellaneous certified mailings that occur. We request the small amount of $50.00 be placed into a Petty Cash Fund for the Superior Court. Thank you. I6"( ,K6Py*
