RESOLUTION NO. ~R-R7
INTERGOVERNMENTAL SALE OF SURPLUS
VOTING MACHINES
WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.130 authorizes the Board of County
Commissioners to dispose of county property to another
governmental agency by means of private negotiations upon such
terms as may be agreed upon and for such consideration as may be
deemed adequate; and
WHEREAS, 36.34.020 authorizes the county legislative
authority to sell county property to another governmental agency
without publication of notice of intention to sell; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Auditor has received an
offer from Pierce County to purchase Jefferson County's surplus
voting machines and it is in the interest of the County to accept
the said offer; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners that the voting equipment listed on the attached
exhibit marked flAIf be sold to Pierce County for the amount
specified in their purchase offer dated May 9, 1987, and attached
hereto as exhibit flBfI, and that said sale be transacted without
further notice or hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Jefferson County
Treasurer is hereby directed to credit all funds received from
the sale of the surplus voting machines to the Current Expense
fund from which the original purchase price was paid.
