P' .{ ~ .vv, '0t n - ,{'ft " ·1 RESOLUTION NO. 61-87 ORDER BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS ASSESSOR, FACILITIES MANAGEMENT, JUVENILE COURT AND SUPERIOR COURT WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Commissioners did, on the 13th day of July, 1987, declare that an emergency existed to provide budget appropriations for the Assessor's Office, Facilities Management, Juvenile Court and the Superior Court and set a hearing on said emergency for the 27th day of July, 1987, at the hour of 10:00a.m.; and WHEREAS, said hearing was held at the time and place so specified and there being no objections or objections interposed; now, therefore, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners, that due to there being sufficient funds in the unencumbered fund balance of the Current Expense Fund, that the County Auditor be, and she is hereby authorized to extend the above noted Department Budgets by the amounts so specified below and included within the categories per their request attached hereto as Exhibit A: DEPARTMENT Assessor Facilities Management Juvenile Court Superior Court Total Appropriations: AMOUNT $ 8,600 6,000 2,000 21,916 $ 38,516 r-~ . Smith, Juvenile and Family Court Services N£: Request for Emergency Appropriation lluly 1Q, 1987 Date Gentlemen: Please be advised that after a thorough examination of my current budget it appears that the budgeted amount in BARS Account Number 527.10.0030 of $ 1400.00 of the Fami ly Court Servi ces Fund is· insufficient to pay necessary expenses of this department for this year. After a careful examination of the expenditures under this fund in previous years, and a thorough examination of the present needs of this department under the current year, I estimate that it will be necessary to have an additional appropriation in the form of an emergency appropriation in the approxi- mate amount of $ 2000.00 for this current year for the following reasons: Because of increased numbers of juvenile offender matters, I have needed to continue the use of our contract services with Phyllis Patch fan Family Court services. Also, the number of Family 'Court referrals and the kinds of services called for in those matters has involved some extensive involvement on her part-to conclude referrals. The original request for 1987 was $900. I have previously transferred money from another line item in the amount of $500 to prevent running "in the red ". I am nresently already in the red aga in to the tune of $81.62.. After a careful examination of the expenditures under this fund in previous years, and a thorough examination of the present needs of this department under the current year, I estimate that it will be necessary to have an additional ,appropriation in the form of an emergency appropriation in the approxi- mate amount of $ for this current year for the following reasons: (4 ) 512.20.49.20 $ 2,500.00 (WITNESS FEE) Started '87 w/$738 from '86. Increase in criminal activity requiring witnesses - particularly increase in alcohol/mental witnesses, along w/juvenile. (5) 512.20.49.30 $ 5,500.00 ( JURY FEE) Started '87 w/$3,708 from '86. Increased jury activity. ****NOTE: Superior Court started 1987 w/$10,000.00 deficit from 1986. Accordingly, our 1987 expenses are actually increasing $11,900. TOTAL REQUEST - $21,916.00. Accordingly, I request permission from the Board of County Commissioners for an emergency appropriation in the sum of $ 21,916.00 for the cur- rent year.
