RESOLUTION NO. 105-87
HEARING NOTICE
PROPOSED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS/EXTENSIONS
VARIOUS COUNTY DEPARTMENTS
WHEREAS, three Jef ferson County Departments have
requested appropriations/extensions to their 1987 budgets to
cover the following additional expenditures which were not
anticipated at the time of preparing the said budgets;
County Fair $ 13,000.00
Facilities Management 5,750.00
Planning & Community Dev. 149,795,.00
Drug Fund ,~..L.?_ºg-"j)O
Total: $ 171,045.00
and
WHEREAS, the total amount of Current Expense monies
needed to meet the aforementioned emergency appropriation is
$27,367.50, with the balance being received through State funding
and through monies held in reserve by the County Fair Board; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners that a need and emergency exists as could not have
been foreseen or contemplated at the time of making the budget
for 1987 and the sum of $171,045.00 is necessary to meet such
need and emergency for the three above noted departments and is
for the best interest of Jefferson County that the appropriation
be made, and that the addi tional funds be added to the above
noted budgets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is
hereby declared and that an appropriation be made for the
Departments listed for the total amount of $171,045.00 to pay for
unanticipated expenses and to include the sum of $134,052.50 in
additional funds to the revenue sections of their budgets.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held
on the said emergency appropriation/extension and that said
hearing be held in the County Commissioners I Chambers,
Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, on the 4th day of
January, 1988, at the hour of 10:00a.m., and that notice of said
hearing be published in the official newspaper of Jefferson
County and that at said hearing any interested taxpayer may
appear and be heard for or against the appropriation for such
alleged emergency.
