REAPPOINTMENTS (2)Jefferson County Planning Commission: 1) Four(4)
Year Term to Expire March 17, 2026; District No. 2 Representative, Lorna Smith; and
2) Four(4) Year Term to Expire March 17, 2026; District No. 3 Representative, Chris
Llewellyn
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
ADVISORY BOARD REAPPOINTMENTS (2) re: Jefferson County Planning Commission; 10 Four(4)
Year Term to Expire March 17, 2026; District No. 2 Representative, Lorna Smith; and 2) Four(4) Year
Term to Expire March 17, 2026; District No. 3 Representative, Chris Llewellyn.
ANALYSIS:
Commissioners recommend planning commissioner candidates to fill empty positions from their districts.
Then the Board of County Commissioners vote to on the recommended candidates. After advertising and
interviewing Candidates, on July 18, 2022, Commissioner Eisenhour from District 2 recommended Lorna
Smith for the District 2 open position and Commissioner Brotherton recommended Chris Llewellyn for the
District 3 open position.
The Commissioners discussed the recommendations in open session during the July 18, 2022 Board of
County Commissioners meeting, and unanimously moved and approved reappointment of Lorna Smith to the
District 2 Planning Commission position, and Chris Llewellyn to the District 3 Planning Commission
position.
The Reappointment of Planning Commission Members was added to the Agenda during the meeting as an
Additional Business Item, and the Commissioners failed to allow for public comments as required by Due to
recent changes in the OPMA before taking final action.

• Discuss this issue in open session
• Call for Public Comments
• Take final action by voting on recommended candidates for appoint to the Jefferson County Planning
Commission for positions in District 2 and 3.
