HomeMy WebLinkAbout026 85 IC~~ ~~ ~41( ¡g~ ;tâuOtr~ ) RESOLUTION NO. 26-85 A RESOLUTION DECLARING A NON-DEBATABLE EMERGENCY AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE CURRENT EXPENSE NON-DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET FOR PAYMENT OF COSTS INCURRED DUE TO A DEMAND FOR ARBITRATION FILED WITH THE AAA BY PALMER CONSTRUCTORS, INC., INVOLVING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE JEFFERSON COUNTY JAIL WHEREAS, there is an immediate need to appropriate funds within the 1985 Current Expense Budget to allow payment of costs incurred in the matter of the Arbitration between Palmer Constructors, Inc. and Jefferson County; and WHEREAS, the amount necessary to provide for payment of the said arbitration is the sum of $6,800.00, which was not anticipated at the time of preparing the above noted budget; and WHEREAS, payment in the amount of $800.00 was authorized by Resolution No. 14-85, signed by the Board of County Commissioners on the 28th day ot January, 1985, and was to be submitted along with Jefferson County's answer to the demand for arbitration, and was so submitted on the 28th day of January, 1985; and WHEREAS, payment of said arbitration expenses constitutes a non-debatable emergency within the provisions of RCW 36.32.270; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that a non-debatable emergency is hereby declared and that the amount of $6,800.00 be added to the Current Expense Non-Dep~rtmental Fund No. 2600 under BARS Account No. 2602.00.80, and that the sum of $6,000.00 be paid to American Arbitration Association, Inc. for advance deposit for Arbitrator's compensation, all without further notice of hearing as provided by law.
