Reorganizing the X
Public Works Department X
WHEREAS, the public works department was created by the
Board of County Commissioners by Resolution No. 45-71, and
WHEREAS, the public works department has increased
responsibilities in planning and administering county
programs and public works projects, and
WHEREAS, WAC 136-10-050 requires adoption of an
organization chart for the public works department, and
WHEREAS, it is now considered necessary and advisable to
reorganize the public works department in order to have
proper management and cont~ol of public works programs.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jefferson County
Public Works Department be reorganized to establish the
postions of Director of Public Works and of County Engineer
as separate positions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Engineer shall carry
out the statutory duties as required and shall report to the
Director of Public Works, who shall report directly to the
Board of County Commissioners.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the attached Exhibit A,
Jefferson County Public Works Department organizational
chart be adopted.
