RESOLUTION NO. 78-85
HEARING NOTICE
BUDGET EXTENSION
JEFFERSON COUNTY PLANNING/BUILDING DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Planning/Building Department
has 'insufficient funds in their 1985 Budget of Expenditures to cover
additional expenditures in the amount of $1,575.00, which were not
anticipated at the time of preparing the budget; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County Commis-
sioners that a need and emergency exists as could not have been
foreseen or contemplated at the time of making the budget for 1985,
and the sum of $1,575.00 is necessary to meet such need and emergency
and is for the best interest of Jefferson County that the appropriation
be made;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby
declared, that an appropriation be made for the Jefferson County
Planning/Building Department to',be reimbursed through a Coastal
Zone Management 306 Grant.
BErT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on
said emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the
County Commissioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington,
on the 18th day of November, 1985, at the hour of 4:00p.m., and that
notice of said hearing be published in the official newspaper of the
County, and that at said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear
and be heard for or against ,the appropriation for such, alleged
eJIlergency.

Gentlemen:
Please be advised that after a thorough examination of my current budget
it appears that the budgeted amount in BARS Account Number 558.60.60.0030
of $ .00 of the 1420 ,Fund is, insufficient to pay
necessary expenses of this department for this year. After a careful
examination of the expenditures under this fund in previous years, and a
thorough examination of the present needs of this department under the
current year, I estimate that it 'will be necessary to have an additional
appropriation in the fona of an emergency appropriation in the approxi-
mate amount of $ 1,575,00 for this current year for the following
reasons:
Jefferson County has received a Coastal Zone Management 306 contract that will fund
the development of a computerized indexing system for shoreline substantial
development permits,. permit exemptions, and permit violations. The contract allows
for the purchase and installation of an upgraded system for the planning and building
department's computer.
Accordingly, I request permission from the Board of County Commissioners
for an emergency appropriation in the sum of $ 1,575.00 for the cur-
rent year. .
