RESOLUTION NO. 29-86
RESETTING MAXIMU}I DOLLAR AMOUNT
SOLDIERS' AND SAILORS' RELIEF FUND APPLICANTS
R~VISION TO RESOLUTION NO. 92~85
w~EREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners signed
Resolution No, 92-85, on the 6th day of December, 1985, establishing
the maximum amount of $200.00 per calendar year that would be dis-
bursed to each qualified indigent veteran, or the qualified indigent
family of a deceased veteran who's applicâtion was approved for
Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Funds; and
\rciEREAS, the veterans organizations of Jefferson County
have requested that the maximum dollar amount be raised in line with
the cost of living expenses; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that honorably discharges veterans who
served in the armed forces of the United States, their families and
the families of those deceased, shall receive assistance when neces-
sary up to the maximum of $500.00 per calendar year from the Jefferson
County Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Fund: PROVIDED said veteran, or
th~ families of those deceased are and have been residents of the State
of Washington for at least twelvemonths, and the application for
such assistance shall be properly vouchered for the expenditure of
said sum or SUInS o£ money.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that if it is determined by the
Jefferson County Veterans Relief Review Committee, that a qualified
Veteran or his family, as specified above, 1s in need of an amount of
£unds in excess of $500.00 for the purpose of supplementing medical
or psychological expenses, the Board of County Commissioners may grant
the issuance of additional funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution supersedes
Resoluti.91LN9 .92;'·85, and shall be effective as of April 16, 1986.
