IN THE MATTER OF: )

Development of a State-wide )
Financial Policy )
THE BOARD OF CLALLAM COUNTY COMMISSIONERS finds as follows:
I. Whereas, the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners along with
the County Auditor and County Treasurer serve as the County Finance
Committee and,
II. Whereas, counties have more latitude than ever before when investing
public monies and,
III. Whereas, the financial arena is complicated and volatile and,
IV. Whereas, savings and loan institutions are failing at an increasing
rate and,
V. Whereas, it would be in the best public interest to have a state-wide
uniform investment policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Clallam County Commissioners
in consideration of the above findings of fact:
1. That the Washington State Association of Counties be requested to
contract for the drafting of an investment policy. Upon completion of
that policy it will be made available for use by the 39 counties of
the State of Washington.
