RESOLUTION NO. 92-85
RE-SETTING MAXIMUM DOLLAR AMOUNT FOR
SOLDIERS' AND SAILORS' FUND APPLICANTS
REVISION TO RESOLUTION NO. 54-84
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 54-84, set the maximum amount of
$150.00 per year that Jefferson County would provide to each qualified
indigent veteran, or the indigent family of a deceased veteran, apply-
ing for Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Funds; and
WHEREAS, due to the rising costs of living expenses, it is
necessary to raise the maximum dollar amount alloted to said applicants
in need of financial assistance; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
that the maximum dollar amount to be disbursed to each qualified indi-
gent veteran, or the qualified indigent family of a deceased veteran
who makes application for Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Funds shall be
$200.00 per calendar year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution supersedes Res-
olution No. 54-84, and shall be effective as of January 1, 1986.

SETTING MAXIMUM DOLLAR AMOUNT FOR SOLDIERS' & SAILORS'
RELIEF FUND APPLICANTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 73.08.010, the County provides
assistance to indigent veterans and their families, and the families of
those deceased, when necessary, through the Jefferson County Soldiers'
and Sailors' Relief Fundi and
WHEREAS, in order to prevent the levying of an additional tax to
cover the costs incurred in the funding of the said Relief program, the
Board of Jefferson County Commissioners feel it in the best interest of all
concerned to set a maximum amount of $150.00 that any applicant could re-
ceive per year from the Jefferson County Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Fund;
NOW, THEREEORE, BE IT 'HEREBY, RESOLVED, that honorably discharged
veterans who served in the armed forces of the United States, their familie~
and the families of those deceased, shall receive assistance when necessary,
up to the maximum of $150.00 per year from the Jefferson County Soldiers'
and Sailors' Relief Fund: PROVIDED, said veteran, or the families of those
deceased are and have been residents of the State of Washington for at
least twelve months, and the application for such assistance shall be
properly vouchered for the expenditure of said sum or sums of money.
