HomeMy WebLinkAbout064 86 Œ,e: {J.i~,'; . ~L~é~ ,..t!~1/7Jci ~~ flrc;(./U~ÚΡV ( , ,/ -~ 1 I JEFFERSON COUNTY RESOLUTION NO 64-R6 CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND RESOLUTION NO. ~~-~5 IN SUPPORT OF THE QUIMPER SHORELINE INTERPRETIVE WALK WHEREAS, the Seattle Aquarium wishes to sponsor a project to provide a waterfront nature/education trail to be called the Quimper Shoreline Interpretive Walk, and; WHEREAS, this project is to be funded through the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Program administered by the State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) , and; WHEREAS, this project is dependent upon an agreement by local authorities to provide oversight and maintenance of the interpretive signs along the walk, and; WHEREAS, the capital costs for maintenance of the signs and improvements would be borne by the project sponsor and/or DNR, and; WHEREAS, it is understood that liability for the project and its' resulting programs would not be borne by the local government entities providing oversight and maintenance, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Jefferson County and the City of Port Townsend agree jointly to share oversight and maintenance responsibilities for the interpretive signs equally (50%/50%), up to $150 each for a total of $300 local contribution per year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this local commitment will be provided as a direct provision of maintenance services or a monetary contribu- tion for a Personal Services Contract for maintenance or a combination of both.
