RESOLUTION NO. 80--86
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MEMBERSHIP IN THE WASHINGTON STATE
COUNTY TRUST BENEFICIARIES ASSOCIATION AND ESTABLISHING A
FUND FOR PAYMENT OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES PURSUANT TO THE
INTER-LOCAL AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, Jefferson County, together with other counties in the
State, previously transferred lands to the State of Washington to hold
as trustee, pursuant to RCW 76.12.030. There is some question as to
whether or not the trustee is properly performing its' duties as a
public trustee, and;
WHEREAS, it appears that it would be in the best interests of the
beneficiary counties to enter into an association for the purpose of
retaining counsel to provide the member counties with an opinion as to
the availability of equitable relief in the form of a court supervised
accounting by the State to the beneficiaries and clarification of the
legal relationship between the beneficiaries and the trustee. Expenses
related to the employment of counsel shall be shared between the
parties pursuant to the Inter-Local Agreement from a fund established
for that purpose, now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. Jefferson County shall join the Washington State County
Trust Beneficiaries Association; designating ~:ry W. Dennison
to be the participating member.
2. The Jefferson County Treasurer shall establish an Inter-
Local Agreement Fund.
