Philip,
Has DCD made any progress in reviewing my September 12th request that you (Jefferson County) require the property owners (PLA) of the abandoned Trail Nine golf course to bring that property
into compliance with the MPR-RA zoning code, as required by the Port Ludlow MPR Development Agreement.
Sincerely,
Bert Loomis

Dear Mr. Loomis,
I have asked our Department of Community Development to review the Port Ludlow MPR Code and Development Agreement in view of your requests in the email below, to determine whether our
code or the development agreement create the obligations on the County or Port Ludlow Associates that you are asserting. The County will provide you a response after that analysis
has been completed.
Sincerely,
Philip Morley

To the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners:
I am requesting that you require the property owner (PLA) of the abandoned Trail Nine golf course
bring that property into compliance with the MPR-RA zoning code, as agreed to in the MPR Development Agreement.
The property has gone from an 83 acre pristine nine hole golf course, to an 83 acre fire hazard and noxious weed
breeding ground. It has become a community eyesore, and has significantly reduced the value of my home as well the other homes fronting the abandoned property.
I have recently had an attorney, along with an extremely well qualified wildland fire expert, tour the entire 83 acre course. Not surprisingly, their assessment differs markedly with
those of Chief Martin's. I have two more experts schedule to inspect the course later this month.
I expect Jefferson County to enforce the MPR-RA zoning code by requiring the property owner to immediately mow the entire Trail Nine course and remove the cut grass and noxious weeds
from the course. Also, a mowing schedule that requires the course to be mowed a minimum of four time a year, along with a noxious weed mitigation plan, must be published.
I have repeatedly raise this issue with Jefferson County over the past six years. My requests have been completely ignored. Perhaps you and the property owner might want to consider
the benefits of risk medication.
Sincerely,
Bert Loomis
