RESOLUTION NO.
39-84
ESTABLISHING INMATE TRUST CHECKING ACCOUNT & INMATE COMMISSARY FUND
WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary to establish a new pro-
cedure for the receipting and disbursement of monies brought into
the jail by inmates, and
WHEREAS, there needs to be some provision for inmates to
properly purchase sundry items such as candy, pop, cigarettes,
etc., and this must be accounted for, and
WHEREAS, monies not used by an inmate need to be remitted
back to an inmate by check when inmate is discharged, and
WHEREAS, there is a specific account and fund which should
be properly initiated for this purpose,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL~ED, that the following procedure
be implemented to accomµish same, namely:
1. An IIInmate Trust Checking Accountll be opened by the
Jefferson County Sheriff, with the approval of the Jefferson County
Treasurer, designating a Deputy Sheriff as custodian of the account,
and
2. An IIInmate Commi ssary
Revenue Fund and entered into
Ledger. This fund is allowed
used for recreation equipment
