RESOLUTION NO. 53-84
FIXING SALARIES OF JEFFERSON COUNTY CpMMISSIONERS
AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION NO. 8ß-80
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.40.205, th~ county legislative
authority is prohibited from increasing their saRary while in office and
any such adjustment to the salary must be adopte~ by resolution prior to
the election of a county official to that position and shall not become
effective until the commencement of the term next following such election;
and
WHEREAS, due to the unprecented burden of legislative and
administrative duties and responsibilities impos~d by the legislature,
the salaries of the Jefferson County Commissioners need to be adjusted to
a more realistic level commensurate with the sai~ duties and responsi-
bilities so mandated, now, therefore,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, under the autho~ity of RCW 36.40.205,
effective January 1, 1985, that the salaries of ~he Jefferson County
Board of County Commissioners are hereby established as follows:
1985 - Twenty thousand five hundred dollars
1986 - Twenty two thousand five hundred fifty dollars
1987 - Twenty four thousand eight hundred five dollars
1988 - Twenty six thousand seven hundred eight dollars
($20,500.00)

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Commissioners' salaries
shall be reviewed annually during the budget pro¢ess. Should the economic
climate indicate that salary increases should not be paid or that reduc-
tions should be made, such changes may be made by the County Commissioners
without further resolution.
